†††††††††††† As a self-described "Air Force brat," Matthew Brown, MD (please call him Matt) moved quite a bit in his youth. He spent most of his time, however, in San Antonio, Texas, which he considers to be his hometown.
†††††††††††† Dr. Brown pursued undergraduate studies at Baylor University in Waco, Texas where he graduated in two and a half years as an Honors Program Graduate With Distinction. After undergrad, Dr. Brown received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, which is consistently ranked among the top research and clinical medical schools in the world. While there, he completed an optional International Health Track, with additional training in tropical medicine, infectious disease, and traveler's health, which (along with medical mission work) remain strong interests.
†††††††††††† Wanting to develop his skills across multiple disciplines of medicine, Dr. Brown completed a residency in Family Medicine in Conroe, Texas, where in addition to robust training, he received numerous educational and patient care awards. Passionate about teaching patients and colleagues alike, he served as Chief Resident his senior year, supervising and teaching dozens of residents and medical students.
†††††††††††† When not engaged in patient care, Dr. Brown enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, and spending time in the outdoors.
